For the first time, a release from Norwegian prog rockers Jordsjø will be released on CD. “Jord” was released on tape in 2017, and has already been on several best of 2017 lists. The CD edition will be released through Norwegian label Karisma Records on March 9th 2018.

Jordsjø is a duo from Oslo, Norway inspired by old horror movies, German 70s synth music, Swedish prog, fantasy novels and Norwegian nature. After three cassette demos, this is what the band considers to be their first “proper” album. With plenty of nods to older (especially Scandinavian) prog, “Jord” is more solid than the band’s previous releases. There’s an underlying theme of alienation, roots and dreams – with an organic and dynamic sound which gives associations to 70s prog, with traces of electronic music and folk. Plenty of flute, guitars and a vast array of vintage synths gives the album a warm and vintage sound, while still sounding fresh and interesting.

The band consists of multiinstrumentalist Håkon Oftung (Tusmørke, Black Magic) and drummer Kristian Frøland.
