Copenhagen-based noisey rock trio The Entrepreneurs present a visual counterpart to their new single Joaquin. Watch it HERE

“As excessively explosive as it is dynamic and experimental.”
– The Line of Best Fit.

The new video to “Joaquin” shows a teenage-boy drifting around a closed-down shipyard with his skateboard not having much to do. It is a tribute to those times in life where you don’t have anything holding you back and are trying to figure out how to spend your life. Like the track itself, the video is inspired by youth, freedom and hope:

“The boy is skating around — lonely, but thoughtful and trying to find a direction in life. It is a tribute to being young — having all the time in the world with no restraints and just skating around in an endless summer. It’s the portrayal of a teenager in between places feeling restless with lots of hopes and limitless freedom”, Anders Hvass explains.

The video is directed by Asger Møllsøe and the teenager is portrayed by Vigge Rønne Kejlbo Woll.

The Entrepreneurs are bass player Anders Hvass, drummer Jonas Wetterslev and lead singer Mathias Bertelsen. In their native Denmark they enjoy a reputation as an extraordinarily fierce live band, and with their debut album they’re ready to take on the world. Their noisy songs are aesthetically rich and experimental variations on some of rock’s most significant subgenres like punk, grunge, post-rock — always performed with an underlying dark and explosive feel.

The Entrepreneurs recently signed with Copenhagen-based label Tambourhinoceros (Palace Winter, Pardans, Molina etc.) and are set to release their debut album aptly titled Noise & Romance in February 1st 2019. Today they reveal the new single Joaquin, the first taste of what will be an uncompromising release from the young trio. Joaquin is a playful track with both powerful riffs, high-tempo beats, laid-back parts, distorted guitars, melodic bass lines, and fingerpicking guitars.

“The lyrics are all about breaking free from everything holding you back, and about those who are not breaking free from these bounds. All in all it’s a playful, naive and energetic track with heavy notes of nostalgia both lyrically and musically”, bass player Anders Hvass explains.

When listening to the new music by The Entrepreneurs it becomes apparent how the band are inspired by many different artists including Sonic Youth, Deftones, and Jeff Buckley to mention a few.

After releasing their debut EP Tony Rominger in 2016, lead singer Mathias Bertelsen, guitarist Anders Hvass and drummer Jonas Wetterslev manifested themselves as an amazing live band. They’re feeding of the crowd and return the favour by giving explosive performances every time.

The Entrepreneurs’ debut album Noise & Romance will be out Feb 1, 2019 and can be pre-ordered on vinyl, CD, cassette and download HERE.
