“Il paese non dorme mai” was an opportunity for us to reflect with our gaze on the past. The inspiration of the disc comes from some considerations that came to my mind by observing the path that my father (the writer is Giovanni Risso) every day travels by bicycle a stretch of road from home to a small rural porch where he spends whole days working in the on the fields. The same route, at the same time, every day of the year, a passing of time marked on his face. From here, our record: it was like stopping, turning back and observing that time that has passed, through continuous movement and equal to itself, the central part with the acoustic guitars were born with a single take, .. with those impressed images, with the movements of a small country town that never sleeps, … but which at the time gave the measure, .. without worry … with empty spaces, and with these images we sank into the most personal material of our lives, my father, Marco’s mother, .. Loris’s (Furlan) father whom I thank for all the support he continues to give to Airportman.

An essential element of “Il paese non dorme mai” are the contributions of Fabio ANGELI (ESTERINA) … he realized for us a dream, .. giving voice to this record that really seemed to be waiting for him, … he arrived in Cuneo … and gave us the vocal inserts that made everything we wanted to say special .. his voice so real, coming from his Tuscan land .. so close to ours … his country our country; with the final cover of “life in vain” by daniel johston, a real poem made immense by Fabio .. Daniel would have liked it too …

AIRPORTMAN is the band with the largest presence in the Lizard catalog, not surprisingly the most emotional, the most moving, for its inexorable authenticity”
