So the lovable Italians are back with their latest album, and someone needs to tell them there is a reason why there haven’t been that many metal concept albums. Yes, here we have a grandiose and over the top attempt to explain that no-one is born bad, while at the same time sounding as if they have been eating Iron Maiden three times a day and then snacking a little on Judas Priest and Blind Guardian. I am no kidding when I say there is a song called “Proud To Be Dinosaurs” – lyrics are not a strong point for these guys. In many ways it feels as if they have been listening to classic bands and then attempting to bring the sounds all together, thrown a half-cocked story into it and then wrapped it up in some over the top artwork and tried to make everyone believe we are back in the Eighties.

There is no heart or soul in this, little to relate to, and the feeling they are all far removed from reality and this is the end result. Only for diehard traditional metalheads, who may well get a great deal from it, as for me I’ll move smartly onto something else.
