Apparently, “Allen Austin-Bishop is a singer with a warm voice, a conversational style, and the ability to not only sound as if he believes every word he interprets but an approach that communicates very well to audiences.” There’s just one really major issue as far as I’m concerned, which is that there are just too many times where he goes flat, or sharp, or just misses the correct note altogether. The arrangements are wonderful, the piano is delicate and sonorous, but I found this album far harder to listen to than the latest from the likes of Gridfailure, as while there the genre literally is noise, this is supposed to be more like lounge and for that a singer needs to be hitting all the notes, all the time.
