US project MS. is the creative vehicle of composer and musician Shane De Leon, formerly of Rllrbll and currently of Miss Massive Snowflake. “Ms.” is, as far as I can tell, the first production to be released under the MS. moniker, and was released by US label Silber Records as part of their “5 in 5” conceptual series of EPs.

In the case of this project, it would appear that we’re dealing with an artist that experiments with indie pop and rock of some kind or other, with a strong emphasis on experiments. From the initial 16 second foray into swirling keyboard motifs, sawing sounds and vocal details to the dark toned bass, noise-treated rhythms, droning textures and eerie guitar patterns that follows next, the vocals, piano and what appears to be a tuba in the next piece. Indie-oriented guitar licks with distanced vocals, a noise treated second guitar and funky vibes should indicate what the fourth song fragment sounds like and at last subtle electronic rhythms, female lead vocals and what sounds like a slow, jazztinged bass guitar supplementing concludes this 5 minute EP.

There’s a slight indie rock and indie pop tinge to these short creations, but one fairly liberally treated with electronic effects as far as I could tell. A fairly unique 5 minute long EP it is, and one that might warrant a check if indie rock and experimental rock tend to be areas of general interest.
