First ever U.S. tour kicks off next month
Bruce Soord, the frontman and creative force behind The Pineapple Thief, will embark on his first ever U.S. tour next month supporting acclaimed, Grammy-nominated, multi-instrumentalist, Steven Wilson. The nine-city trek will begin on Thursday, November 3 in Portland, Ore.; a full list of confirmed shows can be seen below.
“This will be my first tour of the U.S., and to be going out with Steven Wilson is fantastic,” said Soord. “I’ll be playing my solo acoustic show consisting mainly of The Pineapple Thief songs accompanied by my trusty looper pedal. People have been asking us to come to the U.S. since day one back in 1999, so it’s great to finally make it. Next time I’ll bring the band with me!”
Bruce Soord’s mainstay band, The Pineapple Thief, has continued to evolve and refine its sound and is seen by many as one of the most interesting and innovative rock bands the U.K. has produced in recent years. The band’s 11th album, Your Wilderness, which released last month on Kscope and features special guest drummer Gavin Harrison, showcases the group performing without any inhibitions, providing a springboard for the ongoing creative growth of The Pineapple Thief.
