These are the words of Massimiliano Monopoli, composer, electric violinist, music teacher and leader of Plurima Mundi, the italian progressive-rock band that comes back with Percorsi, distributed through Italian label BTF.
Plurima Mundi is an italian prog band born in 2004. Lead by Massimiliano Monopoli, the sextet from Taranto (Puglia, southern Italy) plays an original kind of prog-rock: classical music, classic rock, fusion, music for cinema, world music, jazz and characteristic Italian and mediterranean melodies. The played with Richard Sinclair in 2005, then played in Estate alla Sapienza 2007 (a famous summer music festival in Rome), in 2009 MaraCash Records released Atto I, a good debut featuring the legendary vocals of Lino Vairetti (Osanna). Atto I collected great reviews and interviews all over the world and was featured as “best debut album” in ProgAwards and appreciated in ProgArchives. After some changes, Plurima Mundi is back again with new concerts, five new tracks (lyrics written by the well-known novelist Maria Giuseppina Pagnotta), a new line-up and above all and a second amazing album.
Percorsi is a new beautiful work of multifaced and well assorted Italian progressive-rock. The members of Plurima Mundi love PFM, Deep Purple, Yes, Genesis, Banco del Mutuo Soccorso but all the musicians of the band are classical-trained, so they know how to play complex arrangements for a melodic and straight prog-rock. Massimiliano Monopoli says: “Atto I was an ingenous and naive first album, Percorsi is more restless, quite dynamic and polychromous. We’d like to be more expressive and straight, for example I’ve tried to get a new sound for my electric violin with a wah-wah, beside the magnificent voice of Grazia Maremonti or marvellous lead guitar of Sergio Silvestre”.
