“This kaleidoscopic album is made of up pieces of coloured glass that continually move round which basically represent my musical history. The songs which I have listened to during my life have been filtered and inspired me to write the songs for this album.Some songs take us back to the 60’s with the beat generation and flower power, followed by the pop rock of the 70’s with its psychedellic intrumental music. The 80’s saw electro pop dance music and a cyborg reggae rhythm inspired by Jamaican artists. Also included in the album are some Italian folk songs.I have created what I wanted to, but, this is not only my album it is also yours!”
A musician and singer, Andrea Tich could be seen on stage during the early 70’s in Sicily. He arrived in Milan in 1977, together with his drummer friend and musical advisor, Claudio Panarello to join the leading musicians, (Franco Battiato, Claudio Rocchi, Eugenio Finardi, Camerini…) of the Milan alternative music scene comprising Pop, Festival, etc. and which constituted the break with the traditional Italian love song. In 1978 Andrea brought out an album on the Cramps label, produced by Claudio Rocchi. This album, “MASTURBATI”, has now become a collector’s item, but primarily it was a mixture of psychedelic songs for a worldwide market. The album features ironic songs with disorientating lyrics and a sharp but warm voice. After this album, Andrea tried to take a more commercial route, his songs became more electronic which still represent his music today. This evolved into instrumental music: (Milano città nella città which came out in 1992), soundtracks for films and documentaries (Cronenberg’s “Stereo”) and collaboration with other song composers. During the first few years of the 21st century, he went back to his origins releasing two new albums: “SIAMO NATI VEGETALI” (2005) and “UNA COMETA DI SANGUE” (2014). Today, his music is very Italian but with a foreign flavour. Throughout Andrea’s musical career, he has continued to work with his percussionist and producer, Claudio Panarello. On September 21st, 2018 a new album called “PARLERO’ DENTRO TE” is released on the I Dischi di Plastica label (CD) and on M.P. & Records on limited edition vinyl.
