Here we have another single from Friendly Folk Records where I have no idea who is actually performing on it, this time not helped by the fact that Harmony Glen (a six-piece Dutch group who have been performing Irish Folk for 15 years) have been joined on this release by Ye Banished Privateers, a Swedish pirate folk rock band that at times can have up to 30 members. As one would expect from those involved this is a shanty style folk number with plenty of pirate style vocals in the background, but what really makes this are the wonderful female lead vocals. They are clear, passionate, with a wonderful emotion to them and one can hear she is smiling and really enjoying this. Actually, everyone is having a good time, and the result is that the listener is as well. They have just released a new album, which is on my list, and based on this is something I am really looking forward to playing.
