Here we have the second single from Rain, following up on “Forget About You” which came out in August. That was quite a power pop belter in the likes of Pat Benatar or Blondie, but this is somewhat more restrained. Vocals are well to the fore, but to my mind this is just too laid-back, and I found it had nothing like the immediate impact of the debut. Cathy Elizabeth has a really nice voice, but I prefer it more when the guitars are higher in the mix, the drums are forcing it along and she is taking firm control. With plenty of strummed acoustic guitars in the background, this is pleasant and summery but rarely more than that. I really hope the next one is more direct.
