In 2022 the classic line-up of Billy Graziadei (vocals/guitar), Bobby Hambel (lead guitar), Danny Schuler (drums) and Evan Seinfeld (vocals/bass) got back together, with this being the first album since 2012’s ‘Reborn In Defiance’ which was actually released after Seinfeld had left the band. When it comes to hardcore I have long been of the belief that the New York outfit have been one of the most exciting and consistent proponents of the last 30+ years, and here they have rolled away the years to create something which is a massive rebirth.
Kicking off with the anthemic “”Fuck The System” it is one blaster after another, combining hardcore and metal in a commercial manner which loses none of the anger and angst yet somehow is also amazingly catchy and memorable. I have always had a soft spot for 2001’s ‘Uncivilization’ (the only album to feature guitarist Leo Curley), but this is taking Biohazard to a whole new level as they combine their experiences with a slightly modern twist to create something very special indeed which fans of both metal and hardcore will find a great deal to enjoy, while they also haven’t forgotten the hip hop twists. Powerful and aggressive, Biohazard are back with a bang.
