Not to be confused with the iconic Canadian outfit led by Jeff Waters, this differently spelled Anialator has had a somewhat chequered past in that it was formed originally in the Eighties, then went dormant for a considerable period before resurfacing with a compilation in 2017. Since then there have been some line-up changes, but founder Alex Dominguez (bass) has been the constant and he has been joined on recent recordings by JD De La Rosa (guitars/drums) and Tony Gomez (vocals).

It has taken a long and twisted journey to get to their debut album, but it is here at last and a good solid dose of old school thrash it is too. It has been mastered by Arthur Rizk (Cavalera Conspiracy, Cro-Mags, Kreator etc) and he has brought out the punch which the band have in spades as this does not sound like a modern album, but more like something straight from the Eighties but with a production bringing it up to date. It is fast, it is heavy, and it is strange to think this is from a band who have been around in one format or another for many years and never getting to this point, but now they have the question surely must be where to from here? I honestly only listened to this as I was curious to see what a band would sound like who had taken as their moniker that of an already existing and well-known metal act, albeit with different spelling, and I was more than pleasantly surprised. These guys are the real deal and anyone into this style of music would be well advised to seek this out. For fans of Sodom, Slayer, Destruction, Devastation.
