US band Iozz are out with the album “Iozz”, and I suspect that hard rock is the best designation for this album as a whole. This due to four of the seven compositions being more aligned with the hard rock universe. In this case a more atmospheric laden take on this tradition, with surges of atmospheric laden as well as more dramatic keyboards and organ on top of either a more relaxed or a more uptempo and vibrant hard core foundation. The final three compositions takes the album into a rather different realm however. Here impulses from jazz and jazzrock becomes more of a defining feature, with a more free and expressive but relaxed attitude in general and with a combination of elements from jazz and blues that gives this landscapes a rather distinct and appealing mood and atmosphere. A creation to seek out if atmospheric laden hard rock is music that interest you just as much as more relaxed material that combines aspects of jazz,. blues and rock in a more free, expressive and relaxed manner.
