House of Prog is pleased to add Rob Rutz’s “Prog On Assignment!” to its staff lineup.

A long-time advocate and promoter of House of Prog, Rob will periodically share insightful on-air interviews with artists, crew and producers of the Progressive Rock genre.  In team fashion, Rob will work alongside executive producer Rick Henry and HOP’s growing lineup of on-air talent to air never-been-told experiences that embrace the backstage stories and the complex business of prog productions, new and old.

Rob’s background includes more than three decades of relationships with artists, crew members and friends of the progressive rock stage.  He is a volunteer on George “Iggy” Roldan’s impressive list of RoSfest volunteer crew members and is a tireless advocate for “all things RoSfest.”   As the official internet radio station of RoSfest, Rob’s “Prog On Assignment” work continues to build the global fanbase for House of Prog and one of the most successful prog festivals in the world.

Rob’s background includes musical theatre acting, singing, stage management, artist care and the basement hobby of percussion.  He holds a BA in mass communications from Shippensburg University, focused on public relations and speech.  Citing his knowledge of the business end of event production, Rob also holds a general diploma and several advanced certifications in the field of banking.  By day, Rob is a senior vice president at PNC Financial Services Group where he leads a national team of locally-based client and community relations directors.   In his day job, Rob has worked alongside colleagues to produce corporate events on iconic American stages including the Chicago Theater, The Historic Alabama Theater, The Detroit Music Hall, Florida’s Kravis Center, The Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center in Atlanta and the historic Cincinnati Music Hall.  Besides the intimate stage at Oyster Mill Playhouse where he’s often appeared in local musical productions, Rob is most familiar with the home venue of RoSfest — The Majestic Performing Arts Center in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.

Rob, his wife Tracy and three children reside in Central Pennsylvania.  Their ten-year-old son TJ is quickly growing his own connections in prog circles, having had the distinction of introducing The Flower Kings headliner on the RoSfest 2013 stage and spending time backstage with members of Yes, Toto, Ambrosia and many other iconic bands.  TJ is currently studying piano, guitar and saxophone and will join his father in researching interview topics and personalities.
